HERE WE DISCUSS EVERYTHING GOING ON, UPCOMING EVENTS, WELCOMING NEW MEMBERS AND CELEBRATING OUR LOVE AND PASSION FOR EVERYTHING LEATHER!
FROM THE CEO:
Hello everyone and welcome to 2022!
This is our first newsletter for this year due to Covid-19, floods and a few other minor issues. However, all is back on track now, and it is business as usual in our centre.
The last few weeks have seen a number of new faces come in, along with the return of some familiar ones. We have also ushered in the first phase of a new era in BOOTSTRAPS - starting the daunting task of preparing for the delivery of formal courses. We have a two of our long time participants currently training to become qualified trainers and assessors with the hopes of delivering the first courses in 2023. This is going to be a long and slow process, but one that will be worth it in the end.
I am also proud to announce that our woodwork shop is almost complete! Once we find a suitable volunteer woodwork instructor, we will also be offering woodwork at our Gatton Centre for those wanting something else to learn. We will keep you all informed about that as more develops.
We will also be having a morning tea / open day event in the coming weeks, so if you or your organisation would like to attend, please let us know.
Finally, I would like to extend our thoughts to all those who have suffered in the floods throughout QLD and NSW, and offer our support where possible. I hope you are all safe and well and look forward to another month at BOOTSTRAPS.

EVENTS:
We're currently looking for events that you may be aware of that might help benefit us in getting our message and services out there to the public. If you know of any upcoming events please pass on the details to us, via our email: enquiries@bootstraps.org.au
BOOTSTRAPS HQ:
Our centre of operations, located in Gatton, Queensland, is always open to ALL ADF personnel that are currently serving and/or ex, and the general community to drop in. The centre is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:00am - 4:00pm.
Feel free to drop by and say hello or introduce yourself!
STAFF:
Without the tireless support of our volunteers keeping Bootstraps going would be impossible. That being said, we're always on the lookout for more hands to help us lighten the load when it comes to helping those in need. Regardless of your background or skillsets, every one of us can help to play a part. It does need to be huge, it could be only a few hours a week through to a few days a week - really every little bit helps.

SUPPORT:
For some of us, we're not ready to talk as it means saying things out aloud reminds us of the issue. Then there's times we simply don't want to talk, but we're comfortable to text how we're feeling.
When you feel this way, know that there is support available via text on 0477 131114 between 6pm and midnight (AEST) called Lifeline Text. This is a service openly available and ran by Lifeline, for those times when you're depressed, not quiet yourself or worse.
Just know that there is someone there when you're ready!
Please feel free to share with your friends, families and colleagues! Remember there is always someone willing to listen!
500 CLUB:
We are always so proud to promote all of our 500 Club Members that proudly supports us!
The last few month and now the last year have been really difficult for many businesses and we want to take the moment to acknowledge the continued support of all of our 500 Club Member's. Despite their own struggles, our valued partners have stuck with us through their dedicated support. Please make sure that you support them however you can!
Bootstraps is really proud to have its many supporters onboard as 500 Club Members.
