JULY 2021 NEWS-LEATHER

WELCOME TO THE JULY 2021 EDITION OF THE BOOTSRAPS NEWSLETTER.
HERE WE DISCUSS EVERYTHING GOING ON, UPCOMING EVENTS, WELCOMING NEW MEMBERS AND CELEBRATING OUR LOVE AND PASSION FOR EVERYTHING LEATHER!
FROM THE CEO:

It is hard to believe that we are at the end of July already. It is even harder to believe that BOOTSTRAPS has had its 2nd birthday at our Gatton centre.
What is even harder to believe is that we have had over 350 participants attend leather classes during those two years. What an accomplishment for everyone on the BOOTSTRAPS team and all those who have supported us.
This month also saw a donation from the Gatton Westpac bank after a charity drive, they ran in the branch. On behalf of our team, I would like to say a big thank you to the staff and customers of Westpac Gatton. We have also been conducting regular raffle sales at Porters Plainland and again I would like to say thank you to Mick and Mel Porter and staff for their continued support.
We are planning a 'support and services organisations open day', here at the centre to introduce what we do, and showcase what we can offer to the wider community. Please keep an eye out for further details, or email info@bootstraps.org.au
Thank you to all our staff and supporters who
have helped to get to where we are today.
See you next month and stay safe!!!
- Sam Kavanagh, CEO Bootstraps

COMMUNITY:
As always our centre is always open to the community for them to drop in. The centre is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:00am - 4:00pm. Feel free say hello or introduce yourself!

On the subject of the centre, July was a very busy month with a lot of visitors including some old and new faces to the centre. Special shout out goes to the Team at Westpac Gatton. They held an in branch Morning Tea fundraiser and raised $450 for Bootstraps. Proud to be a part of a community, that's proudly supports organisations like us! Thanks once again Westpac Gatton!

And the visits to the Bootstraps Centre didn't stop there! We always welcome visitors to the centre far and wide, but a special mention also has to go out to Senator Malcolm Roberts https://www.facebook.com/malcolmrobertsonenation and member Paul Henselin https://www.facebook.com/paul.henselin.12 from the One Nation Party.

Their visit gave us a great opportunity to not only show them around our centre, but also helped to educate them on the plight of ex-service personnel, and why our centre plays such a huge part in helping to reconnect, revive and renew "those that have laced up boot in service to our country!" Thanks heaps for dropping in Malcolm and Paul, you're welcome back anytime!

For all of our Bootstraps family, friends, followers and supporters - We'd like you to take a moment and also to take note of this essential service!
