FROM THE CEO:
We have had another fantastic month with lots of new and returning participants. We are getting closer to our goal of finishing our TAE Cert IV which will allow us to then deliver nationally recognised qualifications. Once this is ready, we will announce the start date for our inaugural course.
We recently had the opportunity to participate in a pod-cast with Senator Malcom Roberts, regarding some issues facing our veteran’s community. Myself and one of our regular participants, spent the better part of an hour and a half having a fantastic talk with Malcolm and the feedback we have received from the interview is very positive. We are still trying to arrange an Open Day, specifically for our network of support and services organisations at the centre in order to showcase what BOOTSTRAPS has to offer! Unfortunately, due to the uncertainty of our current climate, we don’t want to commit to a date as yet. We will arrange this function when time permits. Please keep an eye out for further details, or email info@bootstraps.org.au

EVENTS:
Raffle Tickets: Porters Hotel Plainland, are continuing the meat tray raffles. These present a great opportunity for Bootstraps to fundraise between now and December. As always, if you're interested in lending us a hand and volunteering your time, please forward your details to enquiries@bootstraps.org.au
Bootstraps staff are happy to partner up with you all and show you how its done. We need volunteers for the following dates and times: Friday 10th September, Sunday 26th September, Friday 15th October, Sunday 31st October, Saturday 20th November. Friday and Saturday nights from 6:30pm and Sunday lunch 12 noon (These sessions can be up to 1 1/2hr).
COMMUNITY:
As always our centre is always open to members and the community for them to drop in. The centre is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:00am - 4:00pm. Feel free say hello or introduce yourself!
August was yet again another challenging yet, strong month for us!
Thankfully, we were able to remain open for our valued members during the recent lockdowns and restrictions.
Without the centre, many of our members would have had to struggle needlessly during this time, so thanks to all that supported us in keeping the doors open and thanks to those that visited!
Hearing stories from our members about how important Bootstraps is to them, once again fortifies our belief and reason for having such a place available to ADF personnel!
SUPPORT:
For all of our Bootstraps family, friends, followers and supporters - We'd like you to take a moment and also to take note of this essential service! Its not always easy to talk out aloud and sometimes you'd prefer to text it instead. And with everything going on around us all atm, you never know when you or someone you know might find themselves in a situation where they suddenly need this.
Please feel free to share with your friends, families and colleagues! Remember there is always someone willing to listen!
500 CLUB:
We are always so proud to promote all of our 500 Club Members that proudly supports us!
This month we acknowledge 500 Club Member Findex. In its initial stages of establishment, the Findex Tax Advisory (Albury) team worked closely with Bootstraps to assist in gaining charity registrations including Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission registration, Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) endorsement and tax concession charity endorsement with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO). This was an involved process and Findex’s expertise in the not-for-profits taxation space was invaluable in Bootstraps successfully obtaining the various registrations.

Every week our Bootstraps Members and, visitors to the centre toil away, for sometimes hours on end, to create their unique leather work pieces. We'd love to share some of the recent ones from the past month, and perhaps inspire you for your next leather work project!
